Team Work

Creating a new sense of unity

Much of my work in organisations is focused on helping teams of people who are currently not working together effectively. I have successfully turned around a number of teams using workshops that help them move on from the past, address present issues and create a vision for the future. I work with them to focus on what is essential for the future using a values based approach called corptools - www.corptools.com, in conjunction with Appreciative Inquiry.

Team building workshops usually involve:

  •  Discovering what is right with the team and what their hopes and dreams are
  • Encouraging people to leave behind past differences
  • Accepting that change is possible
  • Creating a shared vision and objectives based on values
  • Making commitments to future behaviour
  • Working on real practical issues to make an immeadiate difference
    • Building a team can also include teaching the skills involved in getting on as a team, such as:

      • Listening
      • Giving feedback
      • Building trust
      • Seeing other people's points of view
      • Dialogue and honest conversations

        •

          .

Judith was a delight to work with. She understood the nature and culture of our company very swiftly and was able to work with a team to design a new performance evaluation system".
