Sometimes the goal posts change for a team of people when organisations change. People get confused, lose their confidence and do not think they are particularly good at anything. This is not a good start for a new role!
I work with teams on career management programmes so that people learn to understand and acknowledge their strengths, and at the same time, appreciate the need to develop new skills to meet a new emphasis. This is after I have worked with the senior team to clarify what competencies they are looking for in their teams for the future.
After the individual programmes, I run an event where development needs are shared, team goals are set for the future and a wider perspective on the new competencies discussed openly.
